Charles Varin
Director

Charles Varin graduated from Laval University in physics (1999), where he also obtained a master’s degree (2000) and a doctorate (2006) in optics. Between 2006 and 2016, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow and research assistant in photonics at the University of Ottawa, specializing in computer modeling and numerical solution of complex physical systems using high-performance computing methods. In 2013, he became a teaching-researcher at the Department of Physics at Cégep de l’Outaouais, and then joined CyberQuébec in 2020 to develop research. He became the director of CyberQuébec in the summer of 2022.

Nabila Arezki, recently graduated from the D.E.S.S. in S.T.I at UQO. I hold two master’s degrees, one in computer systems and another in multimedia and image studies. Enthusiastic, curious, and passionate about science and technology. In July 2019, I joined the friendly and dynamic team at CyberQuébec as a project manager. Cybersecurity is a growing field, which prompts our team to innovate, explore, and seek solutions for all vulnerable situations.

Sébastien Huneault

Sébastien began his career at the Canada Revenue Agency in 2004 as a technician in the central administration support service in Ottawa. He quickly advanced to become a senior programmer and database administrator within the web development team. Sébastien then transitioned to the infrastructure team, where he was involved in multiple server migrations and managed network equipment while also participating in national and classified projects. In 2012, he received the Diamond Jubilee Medal for his achievements at the agency, a year after leaving to teach at the college level. Sébastien has been teaching in the Computer Science department at Cégep de l’Outaouais since 2011. His technical and hands-on experience makes him a valuable resource for both colleagues and students.
